Super Bowl Special!

Super Bowl Sunday is upon us! Of course, this calls for a Cupcake Super Bowl Special!
The cupcakes and frosting of your choice topped with your team's logo, or with green icing topped with a chocolate covered oreo football, and a fondant goalpost!
$21.00 for 6, and $36.00 for 12!
Plus, because I'm REALLY excited about this year's game, every order of twelve will also come with four macarons!

Go pats!

Raspberry dream..

Every once in a while, I will fixate on a cupcake or macaron concept and I won't let it go until I actually make it.  Today, it was Pierre Herme's Ispahan macaron.  Beautiful fresh raspberries, an unctuous cream filling between two crunch yet gooey macaron shells.  I know it's not raspberry season, but I just couldn't wait to make it.

The powdered sugar kind of look like clouds on a satellite image :D

Now Herme's beautiful macaron is made with fresh raspberries, lychee ganache and rose water.  I personally don't much care for rose water, so I made a Mounia friendly version, using a lemon and orange blossom buttercream filling.  Since it's technically no longer an Ispahan, I'll call it the Marrakech (hometown represent!).

The Marrakech, mini version :D

Oh.  My.  God.  It was so good I piped it on cupcakes and topped it with a single raspberry, you know,  because that totally makes it a healthy fruit dessert! Oh, and did I mention they look as pretty as they taste?

 Officially a keeper!
Pictured : me partaking in one of my favourite pastimes, making silly faces.  In my brand new apron that I sewed today, no less :D.
Not pictured: my wonderful husband pretending to be a professional fashion photographer while trying to get a clear shot with an iPhone.  Ours is a silly household :)
You can also see the larger version of my Ispahan.

Why yes, you CAN has cheezburger!

In honour of the upcoming Superbowl, the ultimate comfort food "holiday", I give you my Cheeseburger Cupcake and Cookie fries!
Two vanillabean cupcakes for buns, brushed with a homemade rum syrup and sprinkled with sesame seeds, the patty is a chocolate cupcake, the cheese is vanilla fondant, and the ketchup and relish/lettuce are rum vanilla buttercream.  The fries are sugar cookies

Superman and Wolverine!

These were insanely fun to make!  I was inspired by these plushies  which I saw at Montreal Comic-Con earlier this year.

Trying to make friends! Superman looks hopeful, but Wolverine doesn't seem very keen...
It's a bird! It's a plane! It's super cute!

Hazelnut Macarons with Nutella Filling

A couple of years ago, I spent two years in Morocco and somehow ended up with an inordinate amount of free time. Thus my obsession with making macarons was born. You could call these little bites of perfection my first love when it comes to baking!

This is how Smurfs are made :D

Macaron pop!

Moroccan Spice Cupcake

This cupcake is a perfect blend of fragrant and exotic flavours:

Ras-Al-Hanout is a unique Moroccan blend of over 30 spices, and I happen to make my own!
Saffron: the most precious of all spices; brought directly from Spain.
Cinnamon and Madagascar vanilla.

And to compliment this cake, a light and tangy Moroccan orange blossom cream cheese frosting, and an orange blossom macaron.

Heavenly!

My Little Cthulhu Death by Chocolate Cupcake!

This is one of my first fondant figures, and probably my favourite.  This little Cthulhu was made with homemade chocolate marshmallow fondant, and it sits on top of a yummy chocolate cupcake.

Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn!

Angry Birds

I made these on a whim, and was incredibly happy with the results.  The cupcakes are Death by Chocolate (I make those a lot :D) with dark chocolate mousse frosting, and the fondant figures and decorations are coconut flavoured homemade marshmallow fondant.

 Angry bird is angry T_T

Chocolate Cupcake with Goat Cheese Chocolate Chip Frosting!

A surprisingly delicious experiment that is definitely a keeper!  Chocolate cupcake topped with a light and airy goat cheese mousse frosting sprinkled with dark or milk chocolate chips.  Simply divine!

Cookies n' Cream Cupcakes!

Another classic favourite.  A decadent chocolate cupcake loaded with Oreo chunks topped with Oreo vanilla buttercream, and a Double Stuf Oreo cookie!

Lime Passion Fruit Cupcake

My favourite!  A zesty lime-vanilla cupcake filled with tangy passion fruit lemon curd and topped with a lime passion fruit buttercream.

Caramel au Beurre Salé

These are a definite favourite!  Vanillabean cupcake with a gooey salted caramel filling, topped with salted caramel buttercream and drizzled with caramel sauce.

 Caramel buttercream peony!

Kung Hei Fat Choi! Happy Year of the Dragon!

I made this in honour of the Chinese new year.  I found the tutorial on the wonderful BakeHappy's blog.  The dragon is homemade vanilla marshmallow fondant and the cupcake is nummy chocolate with vanilla buttercream frosting.

Pac-Man Screen!

I had a blast making these.  I used my "Death by Chocolate"cupcakes with goat cheese mousse frosting (trust me, it's incredible!), and covered them with my homemade marshmallow fondant.

Halp! Haaalp!

Death by Chocolate!

Paging all chocolate lovers! This is the ultimate triple chocolate threat!  Chocolate cupcake with a chocolate mousse filling and an intense chocolate mousse frosting made with organic 70% and 90% cocoa mix.  The result is intensely chocolatey but surprisingly light and airy!

With white chocolate shavings

Puttin' on the Ritz!

My classic Tuxedo! A dark and fudgy chocolate cupcake topped with vanilla buttercream and a chocolate covered candy.  Some things never go out of style!

Chocolate Peppermint Cupcakes

These are variations on my After Eight cupcake.  The cupcake is dark chocolate with a dark or milk chocolate filling, topped with a peppermint buttercream and your choice of a chocolate covered candy or a peppermint pattie!

Buttercream Roses

These are my mom's favourites ^^

Fondant Orchid!

This fondant orchid was made using homemade marshmallow fondant, and the stamen is toffee crunch!
